If you venture to Portland, Oregon, you simply must head out of the city to experience the many vineyards of the Willamette Valley in Oregon.  On a recent trek to Portland for a marketing conference, I had a free Sunday and had a reservation for a wine tasting at the Stoller Family Estate located about 45 minutes from Portland in Dayton, Oregon.  Stoller Family Estate Vineyard has been named “Best Tasting Room” Readers Choice by USA Today Newspaper for 2018.

Our reservation was for a beautiful table in the Legacy Club, the members only club by the front roll up door, with a fantastic view of the Vineyard.  We had a tasting flight of different wines; including Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Riesling.  Wines by the bottle range start at $25 and they can ship orders.

  Named after Bill Stoller’s mother, this wine is is sourced from
  our oldest section of Pommard in the vineyard. An exclusive
  assemblage of our four finest barrels, it expresses the elegance
  and refinement of our vineyard. This combination of mature
  fruit and French oak produces a long-lived wine that will further
  evolve with cellaring.

• 2017 WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR
  WINE OVERVIEW
  Sourced from a collection of premier sites in the
  Willamette Valley, this wine is a feminine style
  of Pinot Noir. Elegant with excellent length, this
  wine has fine grain tannins, bright red fruitn and
  hints of baking spice. Showcasing a myriad of
  Pinot Noir clones, this wine spent almost a year
  of elevage. The result is an approachable wine
  that can be enjoyed during its youth.
